As of August 1, 2017 I'm officially running for reelection! Why? Because two years just wasn't enough! No, really the two biggest reasons are:
- We've got a lot of change around the corner: There is a lot going on this year - Burnes Park, the ARTery, Blake Road - and there will be even more over the next four - the Hopkins Pavilion, pickle ball courts, SWLRT prep. I want to be there to make sure that citizens are heard throughout the process and that we are consistently looking toward how to make our city safe, accessible, and affordable.
- The relationship between city staff and council is great: A well-functioning staff means that the council can focus on policy and handle the big picture, and this group lets us do just that. We had a lot of changeover in the two years I've been on council, and we are hiring some really stellar performers. I want to be there to see the next great idea brought to us, and helping them achieve the city's goals.
OK folks - now just circle November 7th on your calendars!
